Lately, Gospel music artist, Ricky Dilliard has opened up about why he almost walked away from his choir. As we all know, times have changed as many black churches became too sophisticated for anointed choirs. However, Dilliard remained to please the Lord, instead of giving up while encouraging so many people who admire his talent as choral master of 'New G'.
According to ChristianPost.com Ricky Dilliard admitted, "Sometimes the industry forces us to do other things to maintain relevance. I have just been determined to pursue what I believe God placed in me to do," Dillard told CP. "Sticking with it hasn't been easy. For years, there was a concerted effort, and seemingly a movement, to eradicate choirs from radio play and the industry at large." We're glad Ricky Dillard continues on with his God given talent. Really, if there was no more choir directors to admire, then the gospel music industry should discontinue.
In the meantime, we will keep Ricky Dillard in our prayers.
